Cummins or Powerstroke longevity

Hey Scotty I love your videos. I have a question about which diesel truck to buy. I'm looking at a 2021 Ram 3500 6.7L Cummins HO with the 6 speed Aisin automatic transmission and a 2021 Ford F350 6.7L Powerstroke with the 10 speed automatic transmission. I like to keep my trucks a very long time and would like to be able to run up the miles before any major repairs. Downtime is what kills me. I'm concerned about the Ford 10 speed transmission having issues but I also know your view on Ram trucks. Which truck do you recommend? Thanks!

I’d go 6.7 w/ the Asin over the Powerstroke. Not to say that Powerstroke is a bad motor I’d say in recent years it’s one of the better Ford has put out. Realize with the Ram everything around it will fall apart so have some money tucked away for replacing those parts. Also, unless you absolutely have to have the bells and whistles I’d buy the tradesman trim. That French/ Italian owned company FCA makes great looking trucks but the electronic components they picked up at dollar general. I’ll add that the 10 speed isnt the greatest but that’s where the truck market is headed. If Ford would be accountable and admit the mistakes and tweak that 10 speed a little bit I think it could have potential.

The cummings with that good transmission would be a better bet
