Can anyone tell me why the Toyota Tundra Tacoma and land cruiser as well as the Lexus LX and GX never got a Diesel engine. It would be a great addition for them since they perform well they are more efficient than the gasoline variants and they last longer than gas engine. I’m not saying that the gasoline engine of the Toyotas and the Lexus are not good they are great and last a long time but as an optional powertrain the diesel would be great

I know the Land Cruiser had some Diesel variants in the past.  But not sure if it was for the American market.

Americans don't buy diesels in anything but pickups.

There's never been a good market for diesel motors here.

In Europe, only Land Cruiser and Hilux kept diesels when this generation came out.
