Hello, I'm buying a used car in the next 30 days & trying to decide between A) An extremely rare 2004 Chevrolet Impala SS Official Pace Car/IRL series with just over 15,000 miles on it for $25,000. OR option B) A 2016 MAZDA 6 Touring with just under 37,000 miles on it for $21,000.

This car would be my only car/daily driver and I drive around 12,000 miles per year on average.

3 Quick Questions:

1) Which car would you chose in regards to reliability, and why?

2) I've read that the 2004 SS Impalas last a long time, but should I worry about it having a "hand assembled supercharged 3800 engine"?

3) Will it be hard or expensive to find old GM parts for the 2004 Impala SS ?

- Thanks in advance for your answers, I highly appreciate any & all feedback, as I'm making one of these purchases very soon.

Get the Mazda. Here's why:

1. More tech/toys to play with for daily driver

2. Way better on fuel

3. Better on insurance

4. The only reason you're paying a premium for that Impala is because it is a pace car someone kept in the garage. If you're going to daily drive it and run up the miles, it will depreciate like a boulder falling off a cliff

5. Any car from 2004 will have parts needing replacement just from age

My thoughts on it.

Thanks @Mod_Man - I've def been leaning towards the Mazda and know it's the smarter decision. I used to have an 03 Black Impala many years ago and it was one of my favorite cars I've ever owned, so this rare SS Indy series has been enticing. Plus I was thinking of adding an aftermarket touch screen bluetooth/radio/DVD player, but it just seems smarter to go with the newer Mazda financially and in regards to long term reliability. Thanks again for your input

Mazda by far. It is a much better car compared to Chevy.

I would not consider a modified vehicle for daily driving, especially when it is done by an unknown person.

You can find parts.
