So my 08 altima sometimes when taking off doesnt want to go and just revs to 2k rpm but when given 3k+ rpm it takes off.

That sounds like the belt is going. Not sure anything can be done.
Maybe a mechanic can scan and look for other issues causing the problem.
Bar's Leaks has a "CVT Fix" that might buy some time.
Issues with CVTs are very common, and it will be a fortune to fix when it completely dies on you. I would first try what @carlos recommended. If that doesn't work, then just get rid of the car before the entire CVT fails. I alway tell my friends and family to stay away from them; they are well-known for these constant issues.
