Hello Scotty I have a 2019 Toyota C-HR, I just hit 82k miles I drive it pretty hard and I’ve been on a road trip across the U.S. always done regular maintenance except the transmission so I figured it was due for a transmission fluid change. It’s comes with a CVT transmission and I’ve never done anything to the transmission the dealer recommended only a flush and no filter change I was wondering what you think I’m getting mixed reviews everywhere. What would be best? Hope to hear back soon I love your videos I’ve learned a lot watching you.
it wasn’t recommended and that changing the filter could lead to problems?
Nothing will happen. This is complete baloney. He's either lying or has no idea what he's talking about.
There's no time or mileage "limit" on these transmission. You can safely change the fluid and filter at 1,000,000 miles (hypothetically)
See our FAQ for details.
change the filter. CVTs are really messy
It's only 30 dollars, and it's easy to access. There's no good excuse not to do it. They're consumable, disposable items.
Here's one that melted and deformed from heat.
Do you think I’m still in time to do it and be safe considering the mileage idk if the dealer was trying to scare me but they kept saying it wasn’t recommended and that changing the filter could lead to problems? Thoughts?
