hello i hope this finds you well,
i currently have a 2017 ford focus st with 93k and am considering getting a used rs,
i really love my st and usually travel 300+ miles a week, also the seats are what makes me love it so much, i have back issues and they help alleviate some pain,
i have driving my st 52k and had to invest roughly $3k over life of owning it, should i get out while its still running good? the used car market is cooling and dealers are upside down more and more on inventory.

thank you have a nice day.

Reading a little further, it appears you have a manual already. I really wouldn't bother if it's already a manual. All the RS is, is an ST that's been "souped up" a little more than the ST. "If it ain't broke, don't fix it" probably applies to your situation. There's a lot less that can go wrong with a manual transmission than a DCT or even a conventional Ford automatic. My step dad had an old Chevy Cavalier from 1999 and it had a manual transmission. He wrecked it at 252k miles, and his clutch never needed replacing. If you're a good stick shift driver, you may go a long time without replacing the clutch as well.

thanks for the suggestion, the main reason i want to upgrade is to get a little more umpf, i know the rs motors have been plagued with a few issues, is it worth just spending the extra money and getting a 2018 when available? they only made 1500 units of the rs in 2018 and i think that red looks b,a,

4-cylinder engines can only put out so much power before they start having problems that a V6 wouldn't have, for example. Plus, the fact that they only made 1500 units in the last model year means dealers can charge more for one.

This is one of those things where the particular transmission you have goes a long way in terms of being helpful. Does it have a standard transmission where you push a clutch in yourself, one of those Powershift DCTs, or a conventional automatic? I'm not too familiar with Focuses, so I took what I could from Wikipedia. If it's a PowerShift DCT, I would sell it and get a manual Focus RS. Ford's engineers knew they were putting out crap PowerShift DCTs, and they didn't care. That's probably partly why they don't make them anymore.
