Hi Scotty,
Long time fan here (no pun intended)
Got a 2011 Honda Element AT with 83k miles
I just drove it from Colorado to California without issues to put my car on a boat to Hawaii. As soon as I pick it up from port it is overheating and the mechanic here says both fans are dead but they are getting power. He is going to be replacing both fan. I'm at his mercy so getting it taken care of - but any idea why this might have happened? Coincidence? Rattled by the waves? Getting my leg pulled?

I don't think it has anything to do with shipping.

it's always possible.Test it. Try manually activating the relay , or jump power straight to the fan.
