Hello Scotty and Moderators,
I currently own a 2015 Nissan Versa note automatic CVT transmission. Now I have never had any major issues with it but as it gets older and more mileage gets added im starting to worry about that ticking time bomb jatco CVT because unless I am mistaken I get the impression that it is just a matter of time before it breaks and I woudl want to avoid such an expensive thing happening.
I was thinking of buying a 2 year old vehicle (2018). It would need to be automatic (my wife does not drive manual), and it would need to have enough space to seat 3 people in the back semi comfortably(1 adult and 2 babies/toddlers with child seats).
I was originally thinking of going for a subaru impreza hatchback, but after watching so many of your videos I guess subarus can have head gasket problems and you said their cvts are not that great. It did however have plenty of room in the back (oh well).
I have been comparing the rear seat specs of vehicles online and I think my choice may come down to a Mazda 3 Sport hatchback or a Mazda CX-5 (honda and toyota both dont meet my rear seat requirements unfortunately)
Can you give me any advice on 2018 and up Mazdas?
Thank You
Mazda's are not bad but they are not great. Make sure to bring the car to a mechanic to check it out. You said Toytoa and Honda don't meet criteria but let me put some cars and make sure it doesn't meet the critereon.
Toyota Corolla
Honda CR-V
Honda HR-V
Honda Civic
Honda Accord
Also, if you want a Mazda try to get a lower mileage 2015 or so 3 Hathback or CX-5. Scotty has many videos on CX-5's. The transmissions are more than decent but I wouln't buy any over 60k miles.
