Is a Ram1500 2010 forward a good used pick up truck? Or is it better to buy a F150 or a tundra even tho it might have 100k miles on it?
Good move from Dodge to Ford.
You most likely do not need 4WD, get one with 2WD to avoid 4WD costs and get better mpg.
For F-150s, the 2018+ models have redesigned V8 engines. Only time will tell on how they will hold up. I wouldn't get one until the truth comes out in 2023 after the power train warranty expires for the first production batch. 2017+ ones have the 10 speed automatic transmissions and I'm not comfortable recommending that after seeing the failure rates and jerky shift issues. The best option is Tundra. If you don't like them, I would suggest getting the 2011-2016 F-150s with the V8 engines. Keep in mind that F-150 transmissions may go out in 150-200K miles. You can get a factory remanufactured transmission that will give you another 150-200K miles.
Go for Toyota or Ford if you value your money.
The Tundra is the best but is EXTREMELY expensive. An early 2010's Ford F-150 is the best option those last a while should have no problems buying one with 100k and going another 100k and it is much cheaper. If you can get like a 2007 Tundra for a good price then sure get that but chances are that you won't so F-150 is a solid choise.
Hey this may be a weird situation but I have a 2010 Dodge Challenger 3.5L, im thinking of selling it and buying a Ford F150 from the same time 2010s. The mpg arent that different from 20combined to 17 combined. I dont need it for heavy work just normal day riding to work, just wanted a big truck. How reliable are they and how good are the ones 4x4. You think no matter if it has 100k+ miles the little to no load since its only daily driving im going to give it will actually make it last even more? Just overall advice on it.
I have a 2010 Dodge Challenger with 100k miles, im thinking of buying a 2010 ford raptor with 150k miles, you think is a good swap or should i stay with the challenger?
Definitely a smart move.
How good are the F150 with the 5.4L and the 6 speed transmission?
Im thinking of buying a 2010 ford raptor with 150k miles, it has the 6.2L how reliable is that motor and estimated, how much can it last ? I just want a big truck, wont really put it under stress just normal daily driving.
Not too many miles on it. It should last quite some time unless the owner drove it too hard.
How good are the rams with the 5.7 hemi engines, im just looking for a big truck for daily, not stressful use or towing. The year model looking to is between 2010 to 2015
i have the 5.7 in my daily driver, dodge truck, '19 RAM with 67K, no problems/issues so far, gets 17 mpg, will scoot pretty good, seems to wear out tires though
I had that problem with the stock Goodyears. I switched to Michelin - all good.
Be prepared to replace the roller lifters and camshaft that gets eaten up by the cheap lifters used in the Hemi.
What do you think about a 2005 Ram1500 with 166k miles on it? Is the 545rfe a good tranny?
Fairly reliable trans from my experience. Plenty of construction people around my shop and they all have doge or ford fleet trucks. If the price is right for you and everything else checks out mechanically then I'd say you are set
