I have a 93 Sierra with the 5.7L. One night I tried to start it and nothing happened, like the battery was dead. Everything electrical still worked fine. I turned the key and held it, nothing from the starter, but the door chime sounded like it was winding up in volume and once it got to a certain point the starter engaged strong like normal and my truck started. What is happening?

they have the battery load tested could be a weak battery also check the wiring could be as simple as a corroded battery terminal or loose connection. If not that you can suspect a worn out starter motor
