Desperate for HELP on new car predicted longevity!!

Im a widow and have had to deal with everything alone for a couple years now and i find myself lost here. I have watched hundreds of your videos and always learned something.  I can't find out what to do about these crazy new suvs on your vids and I really don't know what to do. I have to buy a car now and my best choices are flawed. Which of these is the best choice if i want a NEW suv to last a long time, the 25/26 toyota highlander/grand highlander, or the 25/26 (new design) honda passport/pilot, or the 25/26 subaru ascent. I've driven ALL THESE SUVS and like them all well enough. They all either have a turbo or new designs or recalls. Just in terms of guessing what will last a long time,  not worrying about any other factors,  what is the best one of these to buy? Thanks very much for helping us regular people.

No one can predict the longevity of a new vehicle, especially new designs. All new cars are compromised by having to meet increasingly ludicrous government demands written by bureaucrats who have no understanding of how anything actually works or the concept of "diminishing returns". Therefore manufacturers have to put the bulk of their development budget into compliance rather than reliability and longevity.

In general though the Toyota or Honda would probably last longer than the Subaru.

@chucktobias Thanks for narrowing that down for me. I wasn't sure about Subaru because I saw a couple of Scotty's vids where he seemed very positive about them. I see what you mean about the car companies being pressured into weird compromises. It's making it very tricky to buy a car right now.

@tdef Subarus are not bad cars overall (I know quite a few people who own them), but the Ascent has been trouble-prone since day one. Maybe they've ironed out the problems with that model by now, maybe not. I wouldn't take the chance though if looking to buy a long-term vehicle.

However as I said, all new cars have problems due to the insanely complex technology employed, as well as a race to the bottom in using cheaper materials. This is not merely my own opinion:

Here's an example of a 2017 model where a burned-out tail light bulb turned into an expensive nightmare due to crazy complex technology:

Some say the manufacturers are doing this deliberately to increase profits:

I would say Highlander would last the longest

@scottykilmer The highlander!! I really wasn't sure which one you would pick. I'm assuming the gas engine with the turbo is the best to pick if you don't have a billion dollars for the max one. I'm going the grand highlander is about the same because I'm having a hard time finding a lower trim highlander. Thank you very much for answering my question and for all your great videos and advice!
