Hi everyone,

I am in the market for a new 2024 Audi Q3 45 S Line Premium. The one I have in mind is particularly priced at $41,495 online. I am from a Ford & Subaru family and live in the south but now reside in a major metro area. I have a few questions about possibly buying a non-American or non-Japanese car for the first time. My mother previously had a new 2016 Volvo XC90 which had many mechanical issues and eventually caught on fire (as they have increasingly shown to do sometimes due to the fuel line).

Can anyone describe to me the maintenance costs and availability of parts and service?
Am I able to do basic maintenance myself such as an oil change or find tires at a reasonable cost?
Are there certain parts or things that Audi is known for not being reliable?
Would you recommend an Audi knowing that I drive cars mostly in a city setting but sometimes long trips and do not get a new car except once every 6-10 years and if not what are some comparative alternatives?

I have lived in Germany and know the Germans often design and drive their vehicles very well but found they don't understand in the US we drive much farther distances in much more variable climates.

Looking for honest opinions here. I love the look and seemingly solid price of the SUV in the given environment.

Thank you in advance.

I am not to familiar with the Audi Q3 specifically. But I did have a German car. I have had a BMW X5, and from 160K to 200K of four years of ownership, it cost me more money to fix and maintain than 20+ years of my Honda Accord.

My personal choices in the Q3 size would be the Lexus NX and the Toyota Venza hybrid.
