Dexcool to green coolant.

I've been flushing out my cooling system with the intention of using green coolant instead of dexcool. I've ran water and flushing additives in it for 4 days now to get it clean. Is it alright for me to go ahead and put it in or do I need it to be flushed out by a mechanic?  I've heard stories of dexcool gelling up if not flushed out properly.

modern dexcool is just fine as long as you change it on time, and it lasts longer. There's no good reason to switch to the inferior green.

I didn't tighten my lower radiator hose enough and it popped off and all I have is green coolant. I need to know if it's ok to put green in it now, I know dexcool lasts longer.

if your engine and radiator were designed for Dexcool, then I would stick to it. It's meant to protect aluminum and your vehicle may not be compatible with green. Bad things happen if you mix coolant types.
