Did an hour long idle ruin my Cummins?

Recently I spent over an hour sitting at idle in my 97 Dodge 2500 series p/u with a Cummins 12 valve. (I was waiting for my mechanic) When I finally made the decision to leave, a large cloud of bluish smoke followed me for about a mile, then it stopped. Now, each time I start the truck, I spew blue smoke out the tailpipe, when before, there was none or hardly anything noticeable. The truck has 225k miles, and I've had it for just over a year. Is there anything specific to look at that would not involve opening up the motor? The truck runs like a raped ape otherwise, having zero problems. I don't really mind the blue smoke as it will keep the mosquitos at bay.

No.  Just go give it the Italian tune up to clear it out.

Someone correct me if I am wrong, I always thought diesels were built to idle, or at least, are better at idling than their petrol counterparts? Truckers seem to idle their big rigs all the time.
