Hi Scotty! Thanks for your videos. You've helped me learn about cars and how to work on them myself when possible. I just finished watching your video on the 2017 Mazda CX5. I recently bought the 2016 Mazda CX5 with Skyactive Technology and all the bells and whistles from a small dealership, with 80k mi and service records. Runs great, good gas mileage (especially compared to my 2000 Firebird Formula which I am keeping!) and goes zoom zoom! But did I buy the wrong year? How do I find out if I have the Jacko tranny? Should I look at trading it in for a later model? I could swing it financially, but I'm conservative in spending since I'm nearing retirement. I hang on to my cars and maintain them. It's not a sports car but it is a fun crossover with alot of features, which I'm still learning how to operate!
Clarification: which engine and transmission?
You are fine. See here: https://carkiller.com/scottykilmer/postid/96086/
The automatic transmission is Mazda’s own 6-speed transmission (Skyactive Drive). 2016 was also the last year of that generation so should be the most refined. Later years introduced a turbo charged engine and also cylinder deactivation.
