I recently just purchased a used 2018 Mazda6 Grand Touring with the 2.5L 4 Cylinder Turbo. It had 28000 miles and only had one previous owner. Wondering if this was a smart purchase? I’ve watched your videos about Mazda and their reliability with the SkyActiv technology. This particular Mazda was also manufactured in Japan, which you say Japanese cars made in japan are better than those made in the U.S states. But yes was this a smart reliable purchase if maintained properly?

Make sure you change the oil frequently with synthetic oil and install an oil catch can to avoid building up carbon on the valves.
2.5L 4 Cylinder Turbo.
Too early to know, not enough information on these engines. Make sure it doesn’t consume oil.
The biggest concern would be does it have cylinder deactivation? If so I would suggest getting it disabled. The engine itself is not bad, but with the turbo it's hard to tell for long term reliability since it's pretty recent.
Only the naturally aspirated engines have cylinder deactivation.
Good to know.
