Love your YouTube videos! I bought October 1st 09 Lexus Es350 with 153,569 for $6,000 (dealer started it at $11,799). I had my mechanic check it out. Needed water pump which I had my mechanic put in, among other things, belt and thermostat, cabin filter, oil changed, new battery, replaced rack pinion for power steering; then a guy's brakes failed Nov 2nd and smacked into my driver door 😩😥. But it is back now and fixed up but I wanted to know..does it sound like a ok deal even with all the work I have put into it? Additionally; my hood has 2 big paint damage spots and body shops are between $1,000-$2,000 for paint job however I did online research and found 2 places online that will send me a hood replacement and paint to the color I found on the VIN for$450 .How much trust would you give them? Or should I just save up my money and paint it all.
I think it’s an okay deal if your mechanic checked it out before you bought it.
I’d go with the new hood for $450. You can buy 2 or 3 of the replacement hoods for the price of 1 paint correction. But do verify the quality of their work before you commit to either option.
