Dipstick woes

just changed the oil on my 1997 Toyota T100 3.5 L V6. Immediately after driving for 20 minutes I checked my oil dipstick which looked completely dry. There are no oil leaks and the engine is not burning a quart of oil every four minutes. What explains this?

You need to wait a little while after driving for all the oil to drain down into the pan.

If it's still low then maybe you didn't add enough oil
