I was offered a 2006 Dodge dacota sport 1 owner wit 200,000+ miles on it everything on it works perfectly except it has no reverse gear but it has all forward gears for $800 should I buy it or steer clear? Thank you for your advice
Nope out of that one.
You have to rebuild the whole transmission. Therefore, not a good buy.
Run away from the red flags. Even if you got it for free, still pass.
Heck no! 200k and the transmission is already on it's way out.

I think I'd avoid it, no reverse stinks and I imagine it would be really expensive to fix, and then likely have something else go out.
However, should you buy it and the trans stayed together, you could just do this 🙂 This is redneck genius:

I heard from more experienced members on the forum that reverse is usually the first gear to go out, afterwards the transmission will disintigrate. I think the transmission is going out.
