Trouble starting Dodge ramcharger

I bought a 1986 dodge ramcharger automatic transmission with 93k original miles from an elderly guy, everything is perfect with the truck but to ignite it you need to feed gas with the pedal, once the engine starts, it wont fail. Any suggestions?

what the heck May I live with it generally means you're fuel injection system isn't spraying enough fuel into the engine when it's cold and pumping the gas pedal does the same thing so why mess with some old thing like that as long as it starts

Your has a carburetor and it is normal on these cars to give it some gas while you start the car (particularly in cold weather).

Apparently, your automatic choke is not setting properly ( if it has a carb).  Check to see if there is voltage to the electric choke coil.  Check, clean and lube the choke linkage.  Check to see if the choke coil set spring inside the housing is broken.
