Hello Scotty and everyone,
I have an 08 Lexus GS350 AWD that's possibly in need of a new battery. I used the THINKEASY battery tester cable on the Exide SPRINTER MAX 750CCA group size 24 battery that is in it now and it reports:
"Please replace your battery
Battery Power-SOC reads -100%
Battery Voltage - 13.50V
SOH-State of Health reads - 4%
Measured Starting Current - 155.00CCA
Input Standard - American BCI Standard(BCI)
Input rating - 750CCA"
I currently obtained a new POWERMASTER 615CCA group size 35 battery that I got from my cousin, he has a Subaru. My battery is a size 24, it's 1 inch wider than the POWERMASTER battery I obtained from my cousin so, is it ok to use his battery on my car?
Please give me any recommendations you have.
Best regards,
Mike B.
Well, it has considerably less capacity than the rating of the battery you are replacing. What does Lexus specify for that model? As long as it capacity rating is at least much as is specified for that vehicle, it physically fits, and is held down solidly in the battery tray it should be OK. (At the moment one of my vehicles has a Group 35 battery in place of Group 24 and there have been no problems, but the battery meets the requirements.)
Lexus doesn't seem to specify for that model but they start at 600CCA.
