Does Mazda inline 6 (in CX-90) have cylinder deactivation?

Was interested in Mazda CX-50 but it has cylinder deactivation.  Saw Scotty's video on the CX-90, seems like it might be worth moving up to.  But can't find anything on whether the inline six in that model also has cylinder deactivation!  Anybody know?  And is there a website that has detailed information about the Mazdas, ala "hondainfocenter.com"?

Thanks!

That engine is a turbocharged in-line 6 engine.  On their other turbocharged engines (turbo 4s) Mazda does not employ cylinder deactivation.  I didn’t see any information to give a definite answer one way or another, but I presume the turbo in-line 6 does not have cylinder deactivation as well.

I presume you're talking about the 3.3L gas e-Skyactiv G turbocharged I-6 (not the diesel)?

I don't think it does. Since it's a hybrid, it doesn't really need CD.

It is turbocharged though, so you can expect more expensive maintenance and less lifetime.

Yes, not the diesel.

Do you mean the one they call the "PHEV"? Cause they also have just a plain old "CX-90", which from what I could gather from the barebones info on their website, appears to have just the gas / turbo engine.

OMG, I see what you mean! You have to scroll all the way down to the "Powertrain & Mechanical" section, then all the way through that section, and finally you come to a section called "Electric Motor"! Didn't come across any mention of an electric motor anywhere else in their material about the "plain old" CX-90!

Doh!  Sorry - talking about the 2024 model here.

Yeah, makes sense.  They have CD on the 4 but not on the turbo 4.  For what the "base" turbo CX-50 costs, it made sense to look at the CX-90.

Thanks!

It’s a new vehicle, so you’d be a Guinea pig for the vehicle and the engine if you bought it. Buyer beware!

Oh yes - excellent point.

I don't think there is a plain vanilla CX90.

It's hybrid or diesel only.

Yep, you're right. Incredible that they don't really make any mention of that on the Mazda website, except way way down in the technical specs. When you use their "Build" function (and just about anywhere else) it just says "2024 CX-90 is available with e-SKYACTIV® G 3.3L Inline 6 Turbocharged engine."

well lets be honest how many people will actually care?

True, unfortunately.
