2010 Dodge Caravan 3.8L with rear heater, 48,000 California miles. The aluminum engine compartment rear heater line developed a micro crack that would only leak under high temps and pressure. I finally found it and replaced it with a section of rubber 5/8" heater hose but now I want to pressure test cooling system. Will the heater lines pressurize when testing cold under radiator pressure? Or any other suggestions to verify the leak is fixed?

Thanks for your help!

If I understand you correctly, rent a coolant pressure tester from AutoZone. Read the instructions. Uncap the radiator and use the device's radiator cap. Pressurize the cooling system and walk away for 10-15 minutes. If the pressure is still the same after 10-15 minutes, the leak has been sealed.

@justin-shepherd Thanks for your help. I will be patient (for a change) and walk away for 15 minutes after pressurizing.
