Does Valvoline Protect and Serve deserve the hype?

Hi Scotty,

I have a 16 Camry with the 2.5 L and about 175 K. Noticed in the past few months increased oil consumption so I read a few articles and they suggested changing the PCV valve and starting to use the oil in the title? I have noticed less consumption, but Im told the piston design on my engine is the real issue and no specialized oil is going to change that, but rather changing it at 5K with decent synthetic. Any thoughts on this? Thanks.

Never heard of it. I've only seen this slogan on the side of police vehicles.

But I hear that Valvoline Restore and Protect is pretty good oil

Please use the site search function as this oil has already been discussed here. (The short answer is that it can help clean carbon buildup.)
