ECM testing?

I have a 2012 Chevrolet Traverse LT AWD. I was told by a kind of mechanic. Not sure if he is that good of one though. lol He said that my ECM is the reason I am getting so many fault codes. P0013, P0018, P0024, P0056, P0151, P0158, P0160, P0161, P0340, P0356, P0420. He said I should not be getting that many codes all at once and that the ECM is broke or faulty. Is there way to test the ECM? I found some on EBAY that have been tested and refurbished/remanufactured. For anywhere from $45 to $189. And the ACDelco TDS has a program for $45 for one year to program it. But is there anyway to test if my ECM is even bad in the first place?

He said that my ECM is the reason

Did he do any kind of troubleshooting to determine this?

This is kind of a default answer that people give when they either have no idea, or they don't want to work on it.

It is definitely possible to have this many codes at once.

Look up the codes on obd-codes.com to find out what they are, and what troubleshooting steps to follow. Pick off the easy ones first. You'll find that one problem can often trigger multiple codes.
