Hi I have a 2008 k12 nissan Micra, 1.4 petrol , manuel, I have replaced ecu, coils , plugs, oil, airlifter, starter motor, Battery, all the sensors, checked all fuses and relays, but I am getting a camshaft code , P0340, My battery Light doesn't want to go off, nor does the engine check light. both stay on and car . I have tested all sensors all are fine, but still won't start., and the signal feed wire is should grounded somewhere. and I don't know if the alternator or the ECU causing the problem, the ecu was clonded last week, as I have an electrical fault on my last ECU packed up. # wire sensor. Grounbd works and 12 volts, but the signal on has no power. I replaced the alternator, Not Sure if or how the test the alternator.

Thanks John SA

Make sure the battery voltage is ok. First use more advanced scantool to read codes.
Pull the alternator to an auto parts seller for a bench test before replacement. The ECU should also be bench tested to be certain that is faulty before replacement.

What's the mileage? I don't know if those are belt(likely & also time to replace if you haven't) or chain but the timing can be so far off that it's not going to start without correcting the issue.

When you crank it over, are there any abnormal sounds that usually aren't there? If so STOP now, do not crank it over any more & check your belts condition.

Also check your timing with a scan tool, compare it against stock, this tell you the answer. If you can't get a reading w/o it running, see if there's a provision to check it with a timing light.
