I have a 2004 Ford F150 with a 4.6 L V8. I have a check engine light that says has a bad EGR valve I cleaned the EGR valve and lines as best as I could and still have the code. I noticed it’s cheaper to do an EGR delete then it is to replace the unit. Is that something I can do or is there any hidden drawbacks in that.
the truck also runs fine(no rough idle or bogging). Do I really even need to do anything to it, or if I left it alone would it cause damage.
CODE: P0401
thanks In advance

Did you check the DPFE? Follow troubleshooting here:

Removing the EGR system will mean you will constantly have an engine light (so you won't know when something goes wrong), and worse fuel economy.
