I have an 07 Chevy Impala LTZ 3.9L with around 181k on the dash and I love the car. Plus it's my first car and not really interesting in getting a replacement as of the time being. So I'd rather fix what's wrong if possible. The transmission does shift rather hard as in you feel it jolt almost. So i wanted to try some of the lucas transmission additives I already put Lucas ATF Conditioner and while my acceleration feels somewhat improved it didn't really fix my problem so now I want to put in the Lucas Stop Slip additive in and give it a shot. I was curious though would I have to drain the transmission fluid out now since i already have the conditioner in there or can I just pour the stop slip additive in? I know normally they say you can just add it in but i wanted to know since i already have their conditioner product in there.

replacement IS the fix so I guess you're hooped.

Additives are just a last ditch, hail mary, cross your finger and hope for the best kind of deal

I know i just want to try these additives before i go and replace the transmission.

Does the transmission slip? If it doesn't, then leave it alone.

I wouldn't say slip but when I go from a stop like at a green light and then start accelerate my car will shudder and move a bit and the rpms will go up but not shift. Then all of sudden it violently jerks back to life and shifts.
