Heyy Scotty
Just myself guess that electric cars are for long range are a scam?
How people think that these cars are produced? Just with plants e veggies?
The whole thing is politically-motivated. The only people really interested in electric cars seem to be those who are in love with technology and want a Tesla the same way they want the latest iPhone, and snowflakes harboring the delusional belief that they are "saving the planet". The politicians pushing for electric cars live in ivory towers insulated from real life and know nothing about cars, how most people live, or what people really need.
The car buying public has not been clamoring for electric cars but politicians seem hell-bent on forcing them on us nonetheless. If they were really better there would be no need for government incentives to buy electrics, no need for government to spend tax money on installing charging stations, and no need for government to impose punitive taxes and fees on fossil-fuel vehicles (already in parts of the world and apparently coming to the U.S.) - people would naturally migrate to electrics over time.
I have no plans to ever buy an electric car, but like Scotty I'm cheap and buy old used cars. It will be a long time before you can pick up a cheap, old beater electric vehicle that is functional without a major investment in new batteries and who knows what failed electronics. (Being Scotty's age I may not live that long!)
@chucktobias
You lost me at "snowflakes". If you can't even post a reply without insulting an entire group of people, it shows how weak your argument is. Kinda would be like me pointing out that the group of people using that insult seem to be the ones whining and crying in the news right now because they didn't get their way in the election. See? Generalizations are fun.
@chucktobias
Electric cars...green? LoL
Ethanol or Bio-diesel, all the rest are just crap ideas to get money from the people and kill jobs.
@chucktobias
You just called Bio-Diesel green. Enough said.
Re: "Snowflakes" - take a look at the picture Scotty himself flashes up on his videos when talking about "gentrification", "green" cars, certain politicians, etc.
The election is beyond the scope of this site. However, since you brought it up, people who know who are Republicans (I'm independent) are confused as to how to go about rioting and looting. They don't know what kind of goods they should be selecting as loot, what buildings and cars should be burned, and don't even know what the dress code is. The election winners might want to help out their Republican neighbors on this stuff. 🙂
@modman
I didn't say anything one way or the other about bio-diesel. In any event...
This purpose of this forum is obviously not for getting into heated discussions regarding the political aspects of transportation. For myself, all I'll say is that I reject the argument that it is in any way necessary or even desirable to forcibly impose the use of electric vehicles, and for that matter I reject the "green" initiative altogether for reasons I will not get into here. I will not be cooperating with the "greens" and in particular I will not be purchasing an electric or hybrid car. When electric cars are actually better for the average person the market will gravitate in that direction with no coercion needed. We are not there yet.
For a place where discussing the political side of automobiles and whether electric cars are desirable, or even viable, is welcome and encouraged I would suggest the following:
https://www.ericpetersautos.com
(Moderators, feel free to delete if linking another auto site is not permitted.)
There you go, people trying to cancel ideas and opinions where we should be free or die!
Not sure where you are going with that. Unlike production of the early Prius, there are now much greener processes in place to produce environmentally friendly electric vehicles.
The combustion engine produces a lot of toxic pollution. This has been proven time and time again. So the world needs a way to keep the transportation infrastructure moving without sacrificing safety. While there are many drawbacks to electric cars, there are also a lot of positives. You may want to do some research as it is too deep an topic to get into here.
Long story short: electric cars are not BS and are helping us find ways around using fossil fuels, which one day we will inevitably run out of.
@mod_man
Modern internal combustion engines are extremely clean and have been since the advent of electronic fuel injection and 3-way catalytic converters. Their emissions are nil.
Long story short: Electric cars are BS and there is no reason to abandon fossil fuels which we will not run out of for centuries.
Modern combustion engines.....have no emissions.
Now....I've heard it all. {black}:deceitful:
The tin foil hat talk is DEEP on this one. Just based on the terrible misinformation from Erick and Chuck alone, this entire thread should be deleted as useless garble.
There is no real information here. Just conspiracy theory that has no place on the forum and misinformation that also doesn't.
Clearly you posted this as troll bait, which unfortunately I accepted. Not wasting my time further on the absolute idiocy being spewed here.
