Scotty, I wish to inform people that one of the most serious Dangers of the electric cars, is fires,( Being Retired Military,) is the STUPID ATTEMPT to fight the fires with Water! It's an electrical fire!!! & METAL fire. All that does it short out the battery, Metal fires are fought WITH FOAM! metal burns at several thousand degrees (ie. White Phosphorus) The chances of explosions by putting water on a battery/ fire that hot, is stupid. I care about the men who serve as firemen, but can't understand why they aren't being properly trained, they use foam at Airports, I understand foam is expensive, but come on if we are to properly change over to electric vehicles, they need to come with fire suppression systems. I have seen 3 EV vehicle fires, here in SC. this year. 2 General motors and 1 Foreign...
Perhaps the people who choose to buy electric vehicles should be assessed a fee that would go into a fund for fire departments to use in buying the needed equipment.
