I own a 2005 Honda Element that has never had a problem. I and the previous owner kept/keep every service record including small things like oil changes. A few weeks ago my catalytic converter was stolen so to try and prevent this from happening again after getting it fixed I took it to Car Toys to have a new security system installed. In the process of installing it they messed something up because now my car has electrical problems and I now have no transportation for my baby or I as a single mom. I have spent my entire savings trying to fix this problem they caused. I'm not sure what to do at this point and I'm hoping I can find advice. I'm not even sure if this would be the right place to go for this advice.
You will have to muscle down with the Cartoys and insist they competantly fix your car. You may have to elevate it up the company ladder.
Unfortunately that's very common with things like aftermarket security systems, remote start systems, etc. Car electrical systems are extremely complex and unless the installer is a real expert on them there is a good chance that there will be problems. (It is highly unlikely that Car Toys employs people who are experts on sophisticated vehicle electrical systems.)
Get your gorilla suit on and make them fix it - if they are even competent to do so. Otherwise get them to pay for a dealer to fix the damage they caused.
Call your local TV station and let them know about a business that ruined your car. See if they want to do a segment on it. Let the Car Toys place know too and I'll bet you'll get some action pretty quick.
