Hey Scotty, I have a 2003 Ford Escape. 133,000 miles, automatic transmission. She’s been a great car for 20 years, never given us much trouble. Today she died when making a left turn. Once I straightened the wheel out, the engine came back on.
The fuel cap light was on, I think my dad had put it on crooked. I put the cap back on straight. The light went off.
My dad is convinced the light had something to do with the car dying mid-turn, and is having the auto shop order a new one. I don’t know anything about cars, but I don’t feel like the fuel cap would cause the car to die/stall?
I would love to hear your thoughts please.

It could be that the 19 year old power steering pump is going out and loading down the engine. Check your fluid first.
