I have two questiones about engine oil
1. How good is Costco engine oil?
2. Can i run 5w30 oil insted of 5w20 in a f150 5.0l 2018?
Always check the FAQ first before posting a new question please. Both your questions are answered fully there.
Any oil that meets the manufacturer's specifications may be used. See the FAQ for details.
If the manufacturer calls for 5W-20, use 5W-20. Mechanical engineers know what they're doing.
It’s good oil. The actual maker of Costco Kirkland branded oil is Warren Oil. Which makes a lot of the house branded oil.
The thing I like about Costco in general is they do the heavy lifting for you in vetting and choosing their products. Sure, they may sell you a bunch of stuff you don’t need, but at least it is mostly decent quality stuff at a comparable or better price to competitors.
Use the recommended oil viscosity in your owners manual.
