Hey, Mr. Scotty. I am a learning mechanic in the car industry. I would like to know specifically about engine oil. I know that when you get a new car you’re supposed to have fully synthetic oil to keep the engine in good condition. Does it matter if I change the oil from synthetic to conventional and why?

Newer ICEs are designed and engineered to use synthetic oil. Older ICEs are not.
