Hi , recently had an mot and failed on a few things but 1 issue I have not fixed yet is the engine leak , I think a seal has gone but the mechanic said it's leaking like tar, it doesn't have shavings in it, I put a can of stop leak in it so I think it could be that, do you have an idea of what it could be ?
Car is a Bmw 330d e46 with 170k miles

Thats really bad and you have almost 200k miles on a BMW.... I don't even that car is even worth fixing at this point. Thats gotta be a rear main seal that blown and a part from rebuild the engine you don't have a lot of options. Please don't buy another BMW. Those cars are shite
