Hello! I have a 88 Nissan hardbody pickup 4 banger and thinking about swapping the engine for better gas mileage. What engine should I swap it out with?
Sounds like a waste of time not to be mean.. those engines were indestructible just keep it tuned up and it’ll be fine and the amount of work and money it would take to modify and rewire the whole thing to work with something newer and more fuel efficient would far out way the cost of gas in an already four cylinder truck

The gas money you're gonna save after the engine swap is definitely not going to make up for it. Not worth it.
I'm not even sure what I'd put in it to get better gas milage than the motor it has.. and, like other people said..it's not worth the money ud save...just take care of the motor you have in it now
