Hey Scotty I just bought a used 2016 Audi 1.8 Premium Plus from my local Audi dealer in California. The car has 50,000 miles on it. I have only had it for 2 and a half weeks and a EPC light came on while I was parked .. I drove for a bit not knowing what it was and my car slowed and also my Coolant Light went on and said it was overheating and said I need to park right away so I did … I let the car cool and turned it back on then the light was no where to be seen … Is it a sensor that’s broken or is it the engine ? I have Gold Extended service contract with Audi would they fix a issue like this ?? Thank you Scotty love from Bakersfield ,California 🙂

The car went into limp mode due to a problem with the electronic throttle.

As far as whether your "Gold Extended" service contract will pay for repairs you'd need to read the fine print and see what items are covered.

On old VWs EPC (“Electronic Power Control”) was pretty much always the electronic throttle, but on new ones it can be any electronically controlled part in the power train (from the gas pedal to the transmission mechatronic - maybe the thermostat is electronically controlled and is acting up)
