I want to evap smoke test my 2005 mazda 3i 2.0L but i don't have fancy scan tool to shut off vent valve. Is there several other ways to shut off vent valve without a scan tool?

The Canister Vent (CV) Solenoid Valve is "normally open" when no power is applied to it.

You can disconnect its wiring connector and put Battery voltage to one terminal and Ground to the other terminal to close the valve and perform the smoke test
