Good morning scotty I am working on a 2006 f150 about 160,000 mile 5.4 .so the when the truck is running and I turn it off it makes a grind noise from the starter I changed the starter and ignition switch but noise still happens when I turn the motor off I also noticed the when I turn the truck on the key goes from acc then the truck start the key needs no effort to do this. And it doesn't spring back. I wad told it might be a bad neutral safety switch please help.
@heavychevy
Did you buy a cheap starter to replace it because Scotty always recommends a quality start just incase. And it does seem like your ignition is out of whack if it doesn't bounce back.
@heavychevy
Agree with Jack above, there's no way I can think of that would send 12 volts to the starter during shutoff....um,...ignition switch...you might be on something here. Kill the car without the key, grinding?
