Hi

My BMW e39 gives fault codes and I was woundering where The fault is

00006C DME: DMS Digital Motor Electronics fault stored

000066 AGS: Transmission Control fault stored

0000 ASC fault stored

Well, it generally means you have problems in the electronically controlled transmission. Hardly anyone knows how to work on those things. If you can find a transmission shop that says they can work on them without just saying automatically all we have to replace the transmission. Start there. The next time take what I tell. Everybody is good advice And that is don't buy a BMW

Scotty only answers question once and doesn't revisit those answers. Yes, he's suggested your transmission internals are suspect. His recommendation is that you take the car to a transmission specialist who can evaluate it properly without simply saying "It's shot, you need a new one".
