What is y'all's favorite sleeper cars?
A definition of a sleeper according to Google would be a "Car that looks stock but performs at a high level".
I'll start: Plymouth Duster
The fastback-economyish car of the 70's was available with the Plymouth 340 V8, and it was able to beat 60's Corvettes of the time at the strip.
Here's a video if anyone is interested:

Looking forward to seeing y'alls ideas!
2nd favorite sleeper: Pontiac Aztek (optional 2 person tent on the back sleeps two) {black}:laughingoutloud:
My younger brother had a 2008 Caliber SRT-4. Before we were done with it it was pushing 700HP. The looks we got from 5.0 Mustang guys and SRT Challengers were awesome. Nobody expected it.
I like the Grand National, but since @DayWalker took that one, I'll take another great modern factory sleeper: the 2003-2004 Mercury Marauder. A Cobra motor thrown into a Grand Marquis? Yes please. I've also done a few here in the shop where we swapped in a Terminator Cobra block and blower. Those were fun road tests. {black}
I'd like to see someone turn a chevy spark into a sleeper. The sheer number of double takes would be worth the headache IMO
That would be perfect!
:hmm: Maybe a mid-engine 3.4L Supercharged Mirage G4 sedan 😉
Mine is the Buick Grand National GNX.
Ages ago a friend had a mid-1960s Rambler with 327 V8 and "Twin Stick" manual transmission. Ramblers had the reputation of being for librarians and old fogies putting along in the granny lane, and usually were equipped with economy-minded six cylinder engines. This one though took a lot of people by surprise at the stop light drags.

Interesting! Those ramblers certainly don't look like high performance cars!
That's what a "sleeper" is all about! My buddy surprised a lot of Mustangs, Camaros, etc. with his "old man's car." 🙂
Mine has to be the 2004 Mercedes-Benz E55 AMG. The styling was so subtle and classy - you only knew what that car was if you knew. To everyone else on the road, it just looked like a fairly normal E-class. It had a monstrous 469 horsepower and 516 lbs-feet of torque, which was insane at the time (17 years ago!!). Truly one of the best sleeper cars in modern times, at least in my opinion.
Hey, I would take one for a drive at 469 HP!
No necessarily a sleeper car, but a sleeper engine. Lotus stuck a Corolla engine into a Lotus sports car.
A mass produced engine from a basic compact car, makes its way into a super expensive sports car. Crazy.
Another favorite of mine is the GMC Syclone. Back in its day it was faster in a straight line (up to 60 mph) than a Porsche 928, the Corvette, and the Ferrari Testarossa, and all stock from the factory!
I love to see hot rod Lincoln Town Cars! You haven’t heard a more menacing exhaust note until you’ve heard a straight piped Town Car! Look for some videos of them on YouTube you will be surprised!
The prefect sleeper is a racing Kart with a Yamaha R1 for weekend toy, then a Corolla for the rest of the week. Oh and good health insurance
V8 Toyota Prius 🙄
The Hellcat Prius SRT8 was pretty cool.
