So I was at auction today. I bought a fiat spyder lusso for $3000 grand

The car is from 2018 and has 40000 miles on it .

So do you think it was a good investment for weekend toy?

And I know I got it but what problems and maintenance issues I am gonna face in future.

My plan is as soon as car break down I am gonna give it to my ex and call it even XD

The car was on small accident from driver side and was damaged. It had small body damage but since under 40000 chrysler fixed it butt the car was having some electrical problem. So the person got the new spyder And d that went for auction. So with title and registration and tax cost me $2989 exact I was like not bad.
I even road tested it and everything works fine. It even pass yearly car inspection test so as weekend toy not a bad deal. But other then that I won't spend huge amount of money or a fortune on that car only monthly maintenance and fuel  that's about it

As soon as car start given me major problems I will give it to my ex and tell her hey we are even now

Sounds like a good plan. The trouble is, if it’s a red spyder, it might lead to some make up ...

Why was the car totalled? If it’s mechanically good, it might serve well as a weekend toy, for quite a while.

As with all Italian cars, expect the electronics to act up in a few years & the engine lifespan to be short lived.

I believe that was a joint project with Mazda. Basically a rebadged MX5 with a Fiat motor. If you maintain it and don’t drive like a maniac it could be ok

I never recommend buying a car that has been totalled. Good luck with it though.
