First oil change for 2021 Ford F150 w/2.7 Ecoboost

Hello:

You always recommend following the manufacturers specification for oil, which in my case is synthetic blend 5w-20. However, I also have heard you recommend 0-16w fully synthetic for GDI/turbocharged engines.

Also, I bought the truck before hearing your concerns about GDI/turbocharged engine longevity. Beyond frequent oil changes and using a light foot, do you have any other recommendations for getting the longest life out of my engine?

Thank you,

Chris

Use what the manufacturer recommends so you don't void your warranty.

As I understand it, Scotty is recommending the new GF6B 0w-16 for engines that call for GF5 0W-20 or 0W-16. You might want to try using the new GF6A 5W-20 but I would check with Ford first to be sure about the warranty. Pay close attention to what he says at 7:20.
