2014 Chevy Cruze Power Problems

Hey Scotty!

New Subscriber, love the content!

I recently purchased a 2014 Chevy Cruze 2LT RS with the 1.4L turbo, 88k miles with an automatic trans. I had an issue where I would put the gas pedal to the floor and the RPM would go up, but the car would barely go anywhere. It hasn't happened since that one time, but what could that be? Turbo? A module for the trans? Or the fact that the gas pedal is electric instead of mechanical? I've had no codes and my trusted mechanic has not found an issue.

Thanks!

Cory D

I bought a 2014 Cruz Ltz rs new. About a year later I had my rpm all over the place and the motor would make clunk noises. Took it in for warranty work. It was a known issue with the intake manifold being junk. Ran great after that.

Lose your boost? Double check your air hoses and tighten clamps, perhaps.

Well, the day after and ever since then (it happened like a week ago now), I have the power that I know the Cruze has, drives fine, no problems. Even the cruise control when I was having the power loss, it wouldn't stay at where I set it, just going up small inclines.

Watch and wait, and see if comes up again. What else can you do, at this point? Either it's a "one off" or it will recur. You'll find out, obviously. Good luck.

Much appreciated, thank you!
