First time compression test

Hi Scotty,

Happy belated Thanksgiving. Well first of love the you tube Chanel! I know these are your favorite trucks but I picked up a 05’ Dodge Ram 1500 about a year and a half ago. I’ve been hearing a ticking from the day I got it. I figured it’s a lifter that needs to be changed out. I finally did a compression test, granted it was a cold one. The minimum for my engine, the 4.7l is supposed to be 170psi. There’s currently 180151 miles on the odometer.  Here are my cold numbers. Cyl-1: 165, cyl-2 :155, cyl-3 : 165, cyl-4 :160, cyl-5 :160, cyl-6 :150, cyl-7 :165, cyl-8 :155. Any thoughts?  Thanks for the suggestions and help!

stay safe,

Ron

it's not terrible for you mileage. Those number will probably go up for a warm engine.

@mountainmanjoe
That what I’m figuring. I mean its like less than 12% less than 170. And that’s cold.
