Ameritool is a large manufacturer of gas springs and dampers. They are 100% American made.

wow they have a lot of options and types and I need to provide specs -- and are set up to sell large quantities -- I don't want to bug them for only 2 because they will lose money on me. Any other suggestions?

ok you asked who MAKES good struts. So now you can ask them which retailers they distribute to. It might even be listed on their website.

Alternatively, just go to your local auto parts store and ask if they carry it or something similar. Harbour freight might carry it too.

or if you want a minimum hassle solution then just go to the Toyota dealer.

I just installed new on my Ford.  Easy, fast delivery and work great.

When changing the shocks make sure the hatch is supported, just in case.  My hood was heaviest and required the "stick" to keep it up while I did the shocks.  The rear hatch glass was no so heavy but the support was to keep the glass from twisting to stop potential glass breaking.

As for the actual shocks themselves there are clips that must be pried loose to remove the old shocks.  The new shocks will simply snap on and require no extra work for replacement.  Even a kid can do it if you can get them off their games for ten minutes.
