Hey Scotty, I've been watching u a while, and I truly trust your judgement. I have a 2003 Subaru Legacy L, with 138,000 miles on it. My headgasket leak has seem to worsen 😞 as to be expected. Now, she wants to overheat after a few miles. Is it worth spending the money to fix it at this point?? Or should I just get into another used car?? If so what's the best used car you recommend?? I need help ASAP!! Thanks for your time and expert information!! 😊

Not worth doing a head gasket job on a nearly 20-year-old Subaru. You're talking about at least a few thousand dollars and there may be other problems, especially if it has overheated. (Subaru boxer engines really do not like to be overheated.) Time to look for another car despite the bad market conditions.

Typically the best used car is going to be a Toyota or Honda but you need to avoid models that are known to have problems, and have a pre-purchase inspection done by a good mechanic for any vehicle you are considering.

price it out, weigh your options. It all comes to down to dollars. You don't have to be a mechanic.
