Hi Scotty, if you were to choose between a Bronco and a Lada Niva what would be your pick? To me they look pretty much the same and I was wondering if the two companies collaborated with each other:) Thanks

New or used?

New from 2020 ..

So the $30k Ford Bronco is a brand new design with up to 330 horses and 562 NM mated to a 10 speed automatic transmission (the base model gets 300hp and 440nm) that does 0-60mph in ±6 seconds and still gets

While the "new" 2021 Lada Niva Travel a $10k with 80 horses and 130 NM mated a 5 speed manual that does 0-60mph in 19 seconds... An air-condition isn't even on the base model, but there's at least and a single airbag...

The only this that matches is their fuel economy between 80 horsepower and 300 and almost double the weight. And no there's no collaboration going on, there was a cohabitation until 2020 with General Motors but those aren't known for quality either.

Like really? between those two? I fully agree with @20th-century-driver , I'd walk...

Neither are good choices at all.

I don’t think Lada and Ford collaborated.

Lada is owned by AutoVAZ, which is owned by Renault.

The latest Lada Niva was developed by a collaboration with GM, but it was truly more Lada than GM under the hood. I don’t think there was a collaboration with Ford.

There was a collaboration with PSA Bronto. But that is a Bronto, not a Bronco.

What other choices do you have available?

And which specific Ford Bronco model are you looking at?

I would take a train instead of buying one of those two SUVs you mentioned. Broncos have their QC issues and the Lada Niva is old as the hills and 80 hp is pathetic (not the absolute worst compared to the Mitsubishi Mirage which makes less power than the Lada).

Great minds think alike:)

People never use that quote properly. It's "Great minds think alike, but fools rarely differ"

It's supposed to show that conformity isn't always a good thing, and that just because more than one person has the same idea, doesn't necessarily mean it's a good idea.

Absolutely right. It's the same as when you hear people say "Money is the root of all evil." The correct quote from the bible is "The love of money is the root of all evil."

@doc
There's quite a few that people have perverted to a completely twisted spirit.

It's "curiosity killed the cat , but satisfaction brought it back"

Question everything. Be interested in how everything really works. Don't believe people who say "trust us because we have authority".

Never trust anyone who says "Trust me."
