Ford E350 belt squeals but only between 2000 and 2200 RPM

Hi Everyone,

We have an almost new Winnebago with about 6000 miles on it. It’s built on a Ford E350 Super Duty chassis with a V10 Triton engine with automatic transmission. So far, works great.

The problem is that while driving, the serpentine belt squeals but only in the 2000 to 2200 RPM range. Any other RPM range and no squealing at all. I can’t reproduce the sound if parked and reving the engine. What’s throwing me is that it only happens in that RPM range. If I’m careful, I can take an entire trip without making it squeal but it is challenging to stay out of that RPM range.

I’ve inspected the belt several times and it looks brand new, which it kind of is. Any ideas why this would be happening?

Thanks,

Luc

maybe something on the belt is offering resistance at that speed. alternator, power steering, fan etc..

Or just try swapping the belt. You often can't tell just by looking at it.

Did you figure out why your belt was squeaking? I have the exact same issue with the same rv chassis.

That person hasn't visited the forum in 4 months. Did you try changing the belt?
