Good evening!
I recently bought a used Ford Edge 2012 SEL with a V6 engine.
The car rides really nice. However, at times there are a few issues. I’ll list them below.
1. The brake gets spongy after pressing it down the first time. It then takes time before it returns to normal
2.Sometimes driving above 40mph or 60mph takes time, as if the vehicle stalls. I suspect it’s also because to brake gets spongy and perhaps it’s stopping it from accelerating???
3. The steering wheel is a bit hard but I’m not too concerned about this one.
4 the FordMyKey is active and capping the miles at 80mph, perhaps this is why it doesn’t let me accelerate as quickly?
Please let me know if there is anything I should look into to fix this issue. Thank you so much.
Forgot to post the OBD2 scan yesterday. Here it is
1 Permanent Trouble code
- P0455 EVAP System Leak detected (large leak)
1 Steering Column Control Module Code
- B137F Steering Wheel Left Switch Pack: Component failure
Judging from your symptoms, it sounds like you might have a major vacuum leak in the hose connecting the brake booster and the intake manifold vacuum source. Check it for cracks or disconnect.
I'll go ahead an take a look into it next week. Currently am in another city.
I've also gone ahead an ran a OBD2 scan before leaving, it threw up two codes
1 Permanent Trouble code
- P0455 EVAP System Leak detected (large leak)
1 Steering Column Control Module Code
- B137F Steering Wheel Left Switch Pack: Component failure
Could those codes be connected with that you said Doc?
